The SCSJ, a organization of lawyers based in Durham, NC, has been leading the challenges to voter suppression and redistricting in North Carolina and throughout the South, including:
- Racial gerrymandering litigation, originally successful but currently stayed pending appeal, which could potentially result in significant restricting within the North Carolina;
- Pending litigation, which proposes a legal standard for determining when partisan gerrymandering exists;
- Successful challenge to the monster voter suppression law enacted by the North Carolina state legislature in 2013; and
- Defamation claims brought for unfounded allegations of voted fraud.
