Nicholas Stephanopoulos, Kirkland and Ellis Professor of Law at HLS, will discuss the Supreme Court's recent election law decisions in Moore v. Harper and Allen v. Milligan, as well as ongoing election law litigation across the country. Professor Stephanopoulos will also talk about his new book, which introduces a new theory of election law focusing on the alignment between governmental outputs and popular preferences. The book argues that courts should decide cases (and policymakers should enact electoral rules) to promote alignment and avoid misalignment.
RSVP required. Zoom link will be sent via email closer to the event. We look forward to seeing you there!
